We have two Wednesday Walks under our belt this summer. Have you signed up yet?
Our most recent tour of the Maytag property in the Big Holes hosted local hiking and social group, WHALEs (Women Hikers and Literature Enthusiasts).
Executive Director, Dan Verbeten, led the group on a 2.5 mile walk on the established road and small trails of the property, currently owned by the Forest Service. The future of the Maytag property is uncertain, except that it will be protected as public land. The Forest Service is currently organizing and preparing the land use management plan and long term vision for the area.
Our next Wednesday Walk is July 6. You can learn & explore the new Nature Conservancy property north of Driggs. Dan will talk about the importance of the parcel to the agricultural and riparian aspects of Teton Valley, along with the role the parcel and adjacent property managers could play in connecting human-powered transportation corridors.
Find out more here or sign up today. Group size is limited to 12.
