Join us and give back to our public lands! The goal for this trip is to assist United States Forest Service Staff with needed trail maintenance in the Jedidiah Smith Wilderness Area, immediately adjacent to Grand Teton National Park. Participants will join staff from NOLS Teton Valley, and local non-profit Teton Valley Trails & Pathways for five days in the Tetons, working on trail maintenance. Participants do not need to have previous trail maintenance experience.
Initial Schedule:
8/10: Group Meeting, NOLS Teton Valley: introductions, gear check 8/11: Horse packers will pack in the majority of group gear to a remote wilderness camp; participants hike in to set up camp. 8/12-8/15: Hike from base camp to different work project sites throughout South Leigh Canyon, Granite Basin and Green Mountain Lakes Basin.
