Teton Creek Corridor Project
I am very excited to share with you a project that has been in the works for quite a while. TVTAP along with Friends of Teton River, Teton Regional Land Trust, and Valley Advocates for Responsible Development have been working together on a project along the South Bench of the Teton Creek between State Line Road and Cemetery Road. Working with willing land owners the four organizations have negotiated easements to allow the construction of a 12 foot pathway along the bench above the creek corridor. On Wednesday October 13 the four organizations went in front of the Teton County Board Of County Commissioners to ask if they would agree for the county to take on the easements as well as allow an easement on county property to the connect the pathway to Cemetery Road. We have been working with the county on what that means and have obtained direction on how to proceed next to the Landfill Cap and further to the southwest on county property. On November 14th the BOCC will proceed to vote on adopting those easements. Below you can read our fact sheet as well as you can go to our website to gain more information about this project. We are very excited about what this pathway and partnership will bring to the community. The project is not only a pathway, but an opportunity is work on streambed restoration, wildlife management, preserve agricultural, and help interested landowners in improving existing developments and support other community goals. .
Teton Valley Trails And Pathway's mission is a trails and pathways connected community. This project will help us continue this by connecting the communities of Driggs and Alta and provide more access to public lands. Here is a link to the web-site and we encourage you to read the information below. Teton Creek Corridor Fact Sheet.
