Thank you for a great season!!
By Nick Beatty Nordic Grooming Manager
If you have skied only one day on any of the 5 Nordic Tracks that TVTAP Grooms then you owe a dept of gratitude to the following individuals. Without them you would not be able to enjoy our wonderful valley Nordic trail assests. We had an outstanding crew of 16 volunteers this year who were very dedicated to quality and timely grooming. You might not recognize them without their entire grooming garb on, but these guys deserve recognition for their efforts this season.
Thank you to: Kevin Hinkley, Randy Blough, Andy Hall, Dave Monroe, David Treinis, Bill Leake, Jack Haddox, John Carr, Billy Nixon, Jay Petervary, AJ Linelle, Gene Marcowka, David Bergart, Jeremy Besbris, Kyle Marvinney, and Michael Pernice.
These guys volunteered a combined total of 670 hours and groomed an approximate distance of 5,370 Kilometers (3337 mi.). This is an increase over last year by about 450 Kilometers. That is a lot of time in the saddle if you know what I mean. We have several worn out snowmobile seats to replace before next season. Thank you!
The volunteers did a significant amount of grooming this year, but I also need to recognize an individual who spent well over 100 days and 200 hours of grooming in Teton Canyon this season. Mark Heinen calls himself selfish, “I groom so it [Teton Canyon] is in good condition for me to ski on”. If you were in Teton Canyon at all this year there is a very good chance that you saw Mark either operating the groomer, or on his skis. Thank you Mr. Teton Canyon, your passion and drive for skate skiing in Teton Canyon created a great track all winter for the rest of us to enjoy.
