The Horseshoe Challenge Trail Race is coming up on September 16th. This trail run is a great way to preview the NEW 12k race route, and also see sections of the half marathon route. There are a lot of trails in the Horseshoe area and route finding can become confusing quickly. The race course will be well marked on race day, but this outing will give you the confidence to excel.
We will split into two groups, so if you are a beginning trail runner this will be a great way to pick up some pointers and learn some strategy. There will be a faster running group if you have a need for speed. We encourage runners of all abilities to join us on this outing.
Even if you don’t plan to attend the Horseshoe Challenge Race, this fun run will be a great way to stretch your legs, get some exercise, and meet some other trail runners.
What to bring: Appropriate running attire- athletic shoes, shorts, shirt. Carry your own water and snacks/fuel. The aid station will not be set up for this outing, so be self supportive.
Duration: 9am meet at trailhead, sign waivers then begin run. Will be jogging at a slow/moderate pace. Should be back to the trailhead no later than 11am.
In the event of severe weather this outing will be canceled.
Please RSVP (below) for this event.
