New Horseshoe Challenge Website!

The Horseshoe Challenge will be on Saturday September 19th this year! We are happy to announce the brand new website for the race which has race information, registration forms, great photos and more. Please check out the great site that writenowdesign.com has created for us at: http://horseshoe.tvtap.org/

Moose Creek Trail

Moose Creek is a great trail to get the family out or to go for a quick run. The elevation gain is minimal for the first few miles and there are options to climb if you are inclined - both the trail up to Taylor Mountain and the trail up to Moose Lake provide elevation and spectacular views. A nice long loop would be to hike from the Moose Creek trailhead to the Coal Creek trailhead (or vice versa) stopping at the top for a great look at Taylor. To get to the Moose Creek trailhead: travelling on Hwy. 33 just south of Victor turn east onto the Old Jackson Hwy. and then turn east again onto RD 276 or Moose Creek Road and follow it to the end, park in the parking area and enjoy! Please remember that this trail enters the Jedediah Smith Wilderness immediately so it is closed to motorized vehicles and bicycles.

Darby Canyon - The Wind Cave Trail

The trail is clear and dry all the way up to the Wind Cave. Don't forget your camera, it's a beautiful hike! Remember to bring your headlamp and a warm jacket if you end up in the Cave for lunch! The water is quite high so I recommend boots and perhaps a dry pair of socks for the hike down.
The easiest way to get to the trail is to head east on 300 Sout. At the T in the road take a right and follow that road when it becomes FS Road 012. Follow the road to the end and park in the Parking area. The trail is moderate in difficulty as the top of the trail gets quite steep and to get into the cave you are required to climb up the rocks along the river. This trail is in the Jedediah Smith Wilderness so please no bikes or motorized vehicles.

Aspen Trail

Though there are a couple of rather wet spots on the trail the trail is rideable and in great condition! Please remember to walk your bike through or around the mud (rather than riding through) in order to preserve the trail.

Aspen Trail

This is one of the premiere hiking and biking trail in Teton Valley because of it's accessabity. Located on the East side of the Valley this trail affords you wonderful views of the valley in relativiley a short amount of time. The trail is accessed from the south in Darby Canyon or from the Northern end off of Stateline road at 200 East.

Horseshoe Canyon, South Fork Horseshoe Creek

This trail is not for the timid, but a newly routed addition makes getting to the Mount Manning Trail a much more obtainable objective. Loved by Mountain Bikers, and the robust hiker, this trail affords the rider a spectacular downhill with views of the Tetons that few get to lay their eyes on.

Jedediah Smith Wilderness Area

Accessed through multiply trails on the Eastern Side of Teton Valley, this area a true gem. While most people are accessing the wilderness areas of Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone, the "Jed" Smith Wilderness remains quiet and full of splendor without the crowds.
